With temperatures hot enough to melt a tin roof it was Mike Sherman who dominated the weekly social with an outstanding 22 stableford points.
Sherman started like a steam train, making birdies on his opening two holes, 10 and 11 which netted him 4 points apiece and a healthy advantage over the rest of the field.
His golf over the remaining holes was steady to say the least, with only the 16th hole causing him some discomfort, which was completely understandable as the conditions were more akin to water polo than golf.
As for the Special Event prizes, we have seen a continuation of the roll over for those Chip and the Longest Putt, with Payney taking the cash on the Par 3, 16th hole with his effort to 12ft. The winning pair in the Blind Pairs draw was Fady Azzam and Magical Mike Sherman with a combined tally for 34 stableford points.
