Leaving the cold behind him in Hawick in the Scottish Borders was obviously the tonic David Martin needed as he triumphed in the 2017 RAK Seniors event with a very respectable score of 149 over the two Championship courses in Ras Al Khaimah.
On day one of the Championship played at Al Hamra, Martin scored a 3 over Par total of 75 only to better that by 1 stroke at Tower Links on day two which secured him the victory by 2 shots over UAE resident Ken Newell and the Title of RAK Seniors Champion for 2017.
In the Super Senior Division, Jeff Glasgow who was a former Tower Links Member and Resident of Ras Al Khaimah posted a two day total of 164 to sneak across the line by a solitary shot over Dave McLeod.
