Jihad Azzam defied the recently renovated greens to walk away the victor in the Tourette’s Thursday Social with an outstanding 20 stableford points.
It seems that everywhere you look there is an Azzam featuring on the leader board, and if not for Jihad’s intervention, Fady would have posted his 3rd consecutive victory as he also scored 20 stableford points.
As luck would have it, Jihad got Fady’s measure by a solitary point in the 6 hole count back, which will now see him playing off a 4 handicap for 9 holes, end of discussion!!
Walking away with a smile on their dial was Payney who claimed the pin on the 4th hole, with Alister being rewarded for his fine strike on the tricky 8th hole. A newcomer to the game Jason the Teacher showed some deft touch with his short game as his 2 ft effort with the wedge on the 6th was easily good enough for victory.
Fortunately the Longest Putt was not sunk which now means we have some serious roll over Faloos to play for over the coming week, so I suggest everyone hit the practice green.
Whilst on the subject of Putting, a new addition to the prize run down was initiated into the format which was the lowest number of putts, which again fell the way of Jason the Teacher, obviously he is very handy.
I seriously thought I was going to get away without having to mention the Azzam’s again, but I thought wrong, the amazing Azzam’s had their cards pulled together to easily claim the Blind Pairs Draw in 1st Place.
Second place on the day went to Deane & Anupma, with Westley and Sam taking Third honors leaving Callum and Ajay in 4th position
