On a day when even the birds were flying backwards, Dr. Jey found himself soaring like a kite after scoring a gross 77 to take the spoils in the January Monthly Challenge.
With a very consistent outward half of 37, Jey struggled somewhat on the shorter, but more finicky inward nine and could only manage to post a score of 40, 4 over par, which was good enough for a 3 shot victory over Fady Azzam with a further shot back to Gerry Gibson.
In the net division, Mandeep Singh posted an extremely strong score of 69, 3 under par, which was just enough for him to sneak ahead of Phil Madin and Pat Mottershead whom both finished on net 70.
Mandeep was a model of consistency on the day where only 5 players bettered the par of 72, and for his troubles along with Dr. Jey, will earn the chance to play in the Sharjah Seniors Golf Masters Pro – Am later this season.
