Peter Wortley finally exorcised the golfing demons that had been hanging onto him like a paralysis tick to triumph with partner David Biddlecombe in the weekly social Daytona format. The format rewards exceptional play but has more swings than the local park, which makes it a very exciting format to play.
For Wortley & Biddlecombe it was a night to remember as their combined score of 351 had them head and shoulders in front of the second placed paring of Andy Lewis & Westley Hughes on 368. Third place on the evening was awarded to Andy & Johnny Cormack with their score of 379.
Bringing up the rear with a score of 616 on the evening was the Irish contingent of Michael Downes and Tom Treacy, who played more like the great Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. If we were to define one highlight of their night, then without a doubt it would be the drive from the 18th green to the clubhouse.
