Despite the greens being recently renovated, high scoring was the order of the night in the weekly social stableford. Les Frost posted an amazing 24 stableford points to knock up his first victory as a member at Tower Links. Les scored no fewer than 5 net birdies as well as a net eagle in his victory and will savour the moment for some time to come one believes.
Wilma Fernandes is showing no signs of slowing up despite the humid conditions as she also posted 24 stableford points and fell just shy of victory as Les outscored her on their final 3 hole comparison. Wilma scored an incedible 3 net eagles on the night and stated she could have putted with a blindfold on as the putts ran into the hole from every corner of the greens.
The evergreen J.I. Park wound up in third place with a very solid score of 21 stableofrd points, which equated to a gross of 35, 1 under par for the single figure marker. Park was bogey free on the evening, which was some feat considering the condition of the sanded putting surfaces and the warm conditions.
Spooning on the evening was Mr. Graham Farrington who could only manage to extract 7 stableford points from the course, needless to say, he did not hang around to collect his prize either. Pin winners in the event were Ahmad Mustapha on the 12th, with Miller Green holding on to take the honours on the 16th.
The social will formally take a break for the next few months, so stay tuned for the next event sometime in September when the weather starts to hopefully cool off a little. Well done to all of the Winners this season and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for the 2015/16 season.
