Tourette’s Fry Eggs on Home Soil

The Inaugural Society Match unfolded on Friday, February 9th with the RAK Tourette’s Golf Society accepting the Challenge from the EGGS (Emirates Gentleman’s Golf Society).

With the format being an 18 hole Fourball Betterball Matchplay, 6 pairs from each team took to the course to do battle, but unfortunately for the EGGS they were well and truly scrambled.

The first match took to the course at 12.00pm and despite the Tourette’s taking the early lead after a birdie on the 1st they went to the turn 3 down, succumbing 1 point to the EGGS.

With the social atmosphere coming to the fore on the back nine, the EGGS cracked under the pressure with the Tourette’s managing to take the back nine and the win 1 up, and in the process a very important 2 points to set the momentum in their favour.

The results in the next three matches all fell the way of the Tourette’s, with the maximum of 3 points per match achieved, which unfortunately sealed the fate of the EGGS despite two games remaining.

The remaining two games did little the lift the EGGS out of the frying pan, but they did achieve 1 point from the second to last group which helped stem some of the yolk lost.

In the end, the Tourette’s came up Trumps 16 points / 2 points, but the most important result of the day was that new friendships were forged through this great game called Golf.
