Payne Conquers Gale for Tourette’s Victory

With wind gust up to 43 km/h just walking tall was a challenge in itself, let alone trying to swing and hit a golf ball, but Simon Payne took to the conditions like a duck to water to triumph in the Tourette’s Thursday Club with 22 stableford points over the back nine.

Payne played beautifully in the conditions, extracting 3 gross birdies and an amazing eagle 3 on the treacherous Par 5 18th finishing hole in a dominating performance where 16 points was the next best score from the 13 man field.

In the special events prizes, Ash Shukla played a wonderful iron into the Par 3, 16th to claim the Pin, with Ahmad Mustapha claiming the approach in two shots on the 15thand Mohamed Abdul Fattah (Mizu) taking the spoils with his deft touch on the 12th for the chip.

In the Blind Pairs Draw, Simon and Half Day Dave had their cards drawn together for a winning total of 36 points, with Fady Azzam and H.E. Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi claiming second place with their combined total of 30 stableford points.
