Mancy Mainey has Plenty in the Tank

Craig Mainey played a Beltin round of golf and scored 22 stableford points for a much deserved win in the Tourette’s weekly Social.

Mainey’s ball striking was “Simply Lovely” as he started on the 18th hole with a drive that split the middle of the fairway and set him up nicely for an opening net birdie and some much needed confidence.

Craig’s only hiccup came on the Par 5, 13th hole when a rogue sweat droplet distracted him in his downswing causing his tee shot to find the hazard, but in true Mancunian style he got back to business finishing with 3 straight net birdies.

Second Place in the event went to Westley Hughes who scored a fantastic 18 stableford points despite some 3 months away from the game. Westley was a model of consistency despite his layoff as he scored on every hole, even managing to bang himself 2 net birdies along the way.

There was a plethora of Pin Prizes with Simon Payne taking the majority after claiming four, with Ian Craig and Sam “DAWSY” Dawson taking the remaining two pins. The Kitty for the Chip and Putt is rather plump in appearance now as the Roll Over continues and will make someone very happy when they finally achieve the feat of holing out.

In the Least Putts category and despite some tricky pin placements, Phil Madin and Andy Lewis excelled as both chaps got the job done with only 13 putts over 9 holes. Unfortunately for Craig and Ryan, they found the going extremely tough but were rewarded nonetheless for their perseverance with a consolation prize.

The Blind Pair’s was full it’s normal hype with the following players leaving the Hut with a little more folding in their pocket and a smile on their dial.

1st – Craig Mainey & Sam Dawson – 37 pts

T2 – Simon Payne & Mizu Abdel Fattah + Westley Hughes & Ajay Kotwal – 28 pts

4th – Fady Azzam & Gary Smith – 27 pts
