Day 2 and the Final round of the Tower Links 2017 Club Championship was packed full of excitement with the winners coming from behind to take their respective Titles.
In the Men’s Division, Dr. Jey has been a very consistent performer in all events he has contested this season and despite an uncomfortable first round he came back extremely strongly, posting a score of 74, 2 over Par to decimate the field by a whopping 8 strokes.
Jey started his second round only 2 strokes behind 1st round Leader, Mohamed Abdul Fattah, but had quickly eaten into his lead due to his consistent shot making and a stealthy putter. Jey continued to apply pressure throughout the remainder of their round and eventually signed off for a 74 and a combined total of 154, with Robert Kennedy taking Second Place on 162.
The Ladies Division was particularly close, but eventually it was the hardest working golfer in the Club that shone through with a 2 day total of 203 after comprising rounds of 103 and 100. Michelle triumphed by 4 strokes over Patricia Mottershead in what is just deserves as she often races the sunset to establish her relationship with the practice tee whilst the rest of us are complacent with our standard.
David Biddlecombe called on all of his experience with the flat stick as he snuck up on Steve White to claim the Men’s Net Prize, while Anupma Kotwal achieved the same feat in the Ladies Division.
