Down Under does it for Shipley

Rowan Shipley an overseas visitor to the Club from Carbrook Golf Club in Brisbane Australia has triumphed in the midweek social after surviving a card count back with Gerry Gibson after both chaps posted 18 stableford points.

Shipley a first time visitor to the Club obviously enjoyed the testing inward nine and was delighted with his win as it was the first time he has also played under floodlights.

Gerry Gibson continued his solid play and will look back at hole 14 as sealing his fate as he failed to score any points from the hole after an errant tee shot, more range work one feels for the Gibbo.

Third place on the evening went to Yuki Pellerine who buy her own admissions is struggling with the game somewhat, but her 16 points kept her head above water from a bunched group only 1 point behind.

Receiving the award or should I say the Silicone Soother (Pacifier) for his challenges with the course was Gregory Maddox, whom generally did everything to a very low standard. The highlight however for Maddox was that he scooped the pool in the two’s competition for his birdie on the Par 3, 16th.
