Disco Removes Monkey with Win

David Biddlecombe or “Disco” as he is known around the traps has finally been able to get the Monkey off his back after a resounding win in the Tourette’s Thursday Club Social with a score of 23 stableford points.

Starting from the 10th hole, Disco’s game  was as hot as the outside temperature, reeling off 3 straight net birdies before a sloppy slap with his blade on the 13th hole halted his progress somewhat to net him his first net par.

This did little to deter Disco, and despite having to face his nemesis which is the 14th hole and it’s troublesome carry across the Mangroves, he unleashed a whopping drive leaving him a mere 9 iron to the putting surface.

After taking care of business on the 14th hole, the final four holes was a work in the Park for the part time Constructional Engineer, even being able afford a momentary lapse in concentration on the final 2 holes when his mind wandered to a couple of fluorescent light tubes that had been picked up on his SNAG list earlier in the day.

As they say on the European Tour, “With this Win” Disco has had his handicap trimmed by the obligatory 1 stroke meaning he is now off an 8 handicap for 9 holes with hole 12 now possibly leaving him a little vulnerable.

In the Special Events, the trend of a rollover has continued in the Chip and Longest Putt, with the NTP on the 12th hole going to Michael Sherman. In what was a delightful afternoon for Disco, his card was drawn alongside Alister Barker in the Blind Pairs Draw for a combined tally of 39 pts and the victory.
